Ongoing Research

At Todd Jerome Jenkins LLC, we are committed to advancing the field of occupational health and safety through innovative research. Our current projects focus on enhancing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, Human Organizational Performance (HOP), and Human Performance Improvement (HPI). These studies provide actionable insights to improve safety outcomes, reduce human error, and foster organizational resilience across various industries.

Improving Caregiver Retention and Job Satisfaction through HOP Strategies

Overview: This research explores how HOP principles can enhance retention and job satisfaction among caregivers in the home healthcare industry. Given the high turnover rates in this field, we aim to identify systemic weaknesses and implement HOP strategies to reduce caregiver burnout and improve overall job satisfaction.

Lead Researcher: Todd Jerome Jenkins

Current Phase: Literature Review

Research Objectives:

  • Identify key factors contributing to caregiver turnover and dissatisfaction.
  • Implement HOP strategies to enhance employee well-being and job satisfaction.
  • Measure the effectiveness of these interventions in improving retention rates.

Methodology:

  • Data Collection: Conducting surveys, interviews, and analyzing HR data to gather qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • HOP Implementation: Utilizing tools like Task Previews and site reviews to create a safer, more supportive work environment.
  • Follow-Up: Performing post-implementation evaluations through employee feedback and satisfaction surveys.

Expected Outcomes:

Comprehensive recommendations for industry-wide application.

Reduction in caregiver turnover rates.

Improved job satisfaction metrics.

Enhancing Safety and OSHA Compliance through Human Performance Improvement (HPI)

Overview: This study focuses on the roofing and construction industry, examining how HPI tools can improve safety, reduce human errors, and enhance compliance with OSHA regulations. We aim to implement systematic changes that improve safety culture and reduce incident rates in high-risk work environments.

Lead Researcher: Todd Jerome Jenkins

Current Phase: Research Project Planning

Research Objectives:

  • Analyze how HPI principles can minimize errors in high-risk industries.
  • Identify factors leading to frequent OSHA violations.
  • Assess the long-term impact of HPI tools on improving safety and compliance.

Methodology:

  • HPI Strategy Implementation: To enhance operational safety, use tools such as Pre-Job Briefings, Self-Checking, and Post-Job Debriefings.
  • Data Collection: Gathering information through surveys, safety audits, and employee feedback sessions.
  • Statistical Analysis: Comparing pre- and post-implementation data on incident rates and compliance metrics.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Reduced OSHA citations and violations.
  • Significant decrease in workplace incidents.
  • Recommendations for applying HPI strategies in similar high-risk industries.

These research projects reflect our ongoing efforts to advance safety, improve performance, and enhance organizational resilience. We are committed to positively impacting industries by sharing our findings and implementing effective safety strategies.
